NYCRCS&SG in Memorian

Michael Seres

Michael Seres came to visit me at Stony Brook Hospital many years ago. I recall vividly our conversation on that day, as our conversation reconfirm our European background and culture. This created a bond between us from that moment on.

I always knew about Michael’s stubbornness, which I admired very much. I can still remember a patient of mine wearing the early version of the ‘smart bag’, with a flexible metal strip of copper color as a sensor.

Michael was a very strong presence in NY, in terms of his attendance and support to our New York Colorectal Cancer Survivorship & Support Group (NYCRCSSG ) events, where he personally interacted with several patients. He also supported the New York State Colorectal Surgeons (NYSCRS) in Manhattan, where he personally sat with patients at a round table, discussing several aspects related to a quality of life.

I have been blessed to have met Michael and it was a privilege for me to work with him to share our mutual passion, namely excellence in patient care.
